Wanted Blogger Debunks Interpol Myth, Reveals Ukraine's 'Diffusion' Tactic for Capturing Criminals

Блогер розвінчує міф про Інтерпол та пояснює, як Україна використовує тактику дифузії для затримання злочинців.

Andriy Kryndushkin's Take on Interpol

In a discussion with political analyst Yuriy Romanenko, blogger Andriy Kryndushkin challenged common perceptions about Interpol's effectiveness, drawing from his own experience as a fugitive. He described the organization as slow and passive, which complicates the process of apprehending criminals. Kryndushkin highlighted a key operational difference: the public Red Notice system versus the 'diffusion' tool, which Ukraine actively employs for more efficient international pursuit. This distinction is crucial for understanding modern international policing.

Kryndushkin's Fugitive Experience

Andriy Kryndushkin spent a significant period evading international capture by using land border crossings between countries in Africa to avoid airport controls. He noted that crossing on foot between Zimbabwe and Zambia via a bridge near Victoria Falls allowed him to stay under the radar of law enforcement agencies.

Kryndushkin emphasized that the 'diffusion' instrument enables countries to share information on criminals directly with each other, bypassing Interpol's public lists.

'There is diffusion, when countries send information directly, saying: 'We know this person lives at this address here'... it bypasses Interpol's public system, but the diffusion alert is transmitted via Interpol's channels.' Andriy Kryndushkin

He stressed that Ukraine's proactive use of this tool significantly enhances its ability to track down wanted individuals.

'So if you think you need to wait for a Red Notice to be issued, you might never even see yourself listed on their public website.' Andriy Kryndushkin

Kryndushkin's comments underscore the challenges law enforcement faces in combating international crime. While the 'diffusion' tool can be decisive in improving pursuit efficiency, its use also calls into question traditional methods like Interpol's public notices. The evolving landscape of international warrants demands adaptation and new approaches to meet the modern challenges confronting police forces worldwide.
