In the first half of 2025, Ukrainians actively utilized the services of microfinance organizations, signing 4.39 million contracts. This is 8% more than in the same period last year. Approximately 730 thousand microloans are issued in the country every month.
Dynamics of contract signing
According to 'Opendatabot', 2.18 million contracts were signed in the second quarter, which corresponds to previous indicators. On average, the loan amount increased by 9% and amounted to 6029 hryvnias. Compared to 2024, the size of the loan has practically remained unchanged, while the total amount of financing reached 26.44 billion hryvnias.
Despite consistently high demand, the dynamics of debt obligations show some improvement. Overall, the debt to microfinance institutions currently amounts to 24.29 billion hryvnias.
Decrease in the number of lending companies
The number of companies providing microloans continues to decrease. As of the beginning of July 2025, there were 303 financial organizations in Ukraine with appropriate licenses, which is 25% fewer than a year ago. Since the beginning of the full-scale war, their number has more than halved.

Demand for microloans in Ukraine continues to grow, indicating the popularity of this type of financing among the population. The decrease in the number of lending companies may affect the terms of obtaining microloans, but overall, the microcrediting sector remains active in Ukraine.
