The new rules in the work of the Unified State Electronic System in the field of construction provide for a mandatory checklist to verify the accessibility of buildings for various population groups, including people with disabilities. Architects, designers, and experts will be able to ensure that their projects meet the standards of inclusivity and barrier-free design.
'We will instill the principle of accessibility at the planning stage, so that every house, school, or hospital in our country is comfortable for all residents. This is part of our strategy - to create favorable conditions for all people,' emphasized the Deputy Prime Minister for the Reconstruction of Ukraine, Minister of Community and Territorial Development Oleksiy Kuleba.
The new tool will be integrated into the digital system of the Unified State Electronic System in Construction and will ensure control over barrier-free access at all stages of construction. This will contribute to improving the quality of design, making the construction industry more transparent, and ensuring that future buildings in Ukraine will be convenient and accessible for all citizens.
The Ukrainian government has decided to make changes to the Unified State Electronic System in Construction that provide for controlling the accessibility of buildings for various population groups, including people with disabilities. Architects and designers must now take this aspect into account at every stage of creating new facilities to make them comfortable for all citizens.
