The Kyiv Patrol Police called on drivers to refrain from using their phones while driving, as even a brief distraction can lead to a traffic accident. It is emphasized that using a mobile phone is only allowed with a headset or hands-free devices that allow keeping hands on the wheel.
'Using a phone while driving without special devices is not only a violation of the law but also a direct threat to the safety of the driver and other road users,' the police reported.
This violation is subject to administrative liability, according to Part 2 of Article 122 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of Ukraine, with a fine of 510 Hryvnias.
The law enforcement officers called on drivers to be responsible and adhere to road traffic regulations. They also reminded about the development of the Road Safety Strategy for Ukraine at the International Transport Forum.
The police emphasize the seriousness of violating road traffic rules, specifically the use of phones while driving without special devices. Such actions can lead to accidents on the road, so drivers are urged to be careful and responsible on the road.
