The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Ukraine, together with the government of Denmark, is launching a long-term project 'Strategic Partnership for Mykolaiv'. According to the Ministry of Communities and Territories Development, this project aims to restore the Mykolaiv region with a budget of over 36 million US dollars, which is part of Denmark's support for Ukraine.
The project's goal is to create better living conditions for residents, facilitate the return and reintegration of people, and support the most vulnerable groups of the population. The new project encompasses three key areas of cooperation:
- Strengthening local self-government;
- Improving living conditions;
- Economic growth.
Special attention will be paid to humanitarian demining, which is crucial for restoring agricultural activity and overall security in the region. The project will also focus on gender issues, engaging women in decision-making processes, and expanding access to services for all residents, especially for those in frontline communities.
