American diplomat John Kelly announced at the UN Security Council meeting that the USA has set a deadline of August 8 for resolving the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. Kelly issued ultimatum demands regarding the cessation of hostilities and called on both sides to reach an agreement to ensure peace in the region.
'It is time for both Russia and Ukraine to agree on a ceasefire and strengthen peace. President Trump has clearly stated that this must happen by August 8.'
Kelly also noted that the USA is prepared to take additional measures to ensure peace in the region. The deadline for reaching an agreement was set after the initial deadline was shortened due to a lack of progress in negotiations. Should the USA's demands not be met, the American administration threatens to introduce 'secondary tariffs' at a rate of 100% for countries supporting trade with Russia.
The American side has set a deadline of August 8 for Russia and Ukraine to reach an agreement regarding the end of the war. If the parties do not come to a compromise, the USA threatens serious economic sanctions that could significantly impact both countries.
