NATO Military Committee Chair on the presence of foreign troops in Ukraine

NATO Military Committee Chair Admiral Giuseppe Cavo Dragone noted that it is still too early to talk about the details of a possible deployment of foreign military contingents in Ukraine. He emphasized that such decisions require international agreements and negotiations with Moscow, which have not yet taken place within NATO.

'It is too early. Although some countries may raise this issue on a bilateral level, for now, it remains at the discussion stage,' - he explained.

According to the chair of the Alliance's Military Committee, the deployment of foreign allied troops on the territory of Ukraine must be subject to security guarantees that are determined at the political level. It is necessary to agree on the rules of engagement, define the area of operation of the troops, and resolve the issues regarding the functions they will perform.

'Currently, nothing concrete has been agreed upon,' - Dragone added.

Plans for deploying troops to Ukraine

Representatives of European countries are discussing the possibility of sending British and French troops to Ukraine as part of a peace settlement, said the head of the German Bundeswehr union, Andre Wüstner. More than 10 countries are ready to participate in such a peacekeeping mission. He emphasized that a long-term deployment of tens of thousands of servicemen is necessary for the successful deployment of troops in Ukraine.

Previously, the former NATO Secretary-General called on Europe to prepare for a possible deployment of troops in Ukraine.

This news highlights the heated discussions about the possible deployment of foreign troops in Ukraine, but so far there are no concrete results or decisions regarding this issue. All actions related to this require international agreements and coordination with Moscow.
