President Volodymyr Zelensky announced joint sanctions measures by three partner countries against the Russian military machinery, which were adopted on September 12, 2025.

The United Kingdom presented an extensive package of sanctions, which includes one hundred items and deals 'a heavy blow to the shadow fleet of Russia and its military supply chains'. This package includes 70 tankers, 27 manufacturing companies and suppliers for the Russian defense industry, including those involved in the production of Iskander missiles, as well as three individuals.

Japan simultaneously joined in reducing the price of Russian oil to $47.60, which 'will significantly affect the financial capabilities of the Kremlin'. Japanese sanctions also impacted a key manufacturer of Iskander missiles, several operators of the shadow fleet, and suppliers for the Russian defense industry from China, Turkey, and the UAE.

New Zealand also joined in lowering the price cap on Russian crude oil to $47.60 per barrel. Additionally, the New Zealand government imposed sanctions against 19 legal entities and individuals, as well as 19 vessels of the Russian shadow fleet. The GRU unit 29155, which was involved in cyberattacks against Ukraine, fell under the restrictions.

Zelensky emphasized the importance of considering Ukrainian proposals in the preparation of sanctions:

Ukraine has long argued that it is necessary to pressure Russia precisely in these directions and restrict Moscow in all opportunities that allow it to continue the war
.

The President called on other partners to continue pressure on Russian infrastructure:

We must do everything possible to take money away from the Russian military machine. Only in this way can we stop Russia and end this war
.

This is already the 32nd sanctions package by New Zealand against Russia, indicating the consistent support for Ukraine from partner countries.

The Ukrainian president announced the sanctions measures of three partner countries - the United Kingdom, Japan, and New Zealand, aimed at the Russian military machinery. These actions include extensive sanctions packages, a reduction in the price of Russian oil, and restrictions in the production of certain military weapon systems. The measures take into account the interests of Ukraine and aim to deprive Russia of its ability to continue the conflict in the eastern part of the country.
