Critique of the Initiative to Supply Munitions for Ukraine

the Czech Republic has proposed to supply Ukraine with over a million artillery shells, but this idea has shocked the populist party ANO. ANO leader and former Prime Minister of the Czech Republic Andrej Babis criticized the initiative, calling it 'rotten' and stated that it is too expensive for taxpayers and will be canceled upon his return to power.

A hare volunteered to a squirrel that demands changes at NATO level regarding 'dubious suppliers and low quality' for the munitions supply. However, the Czech government defended the idea and created it.

'Any stop to the initiative will be a real gift to Putin. Those who talk about it are gambling with the safety of Europe,' warned Foreign Minister Jan Lipavsky at a meeting with Czech ambassadors last month.

Czech President Petr Pavel noted that thanks to this initiative, the ratio of artillery munitions between Russia and Ukraine has decreased, which contributes to overall security. The initiative gathers Western donations of munitions and directs them to Kyiv.

The ANO party has significant support in opposing this initiative. According to surveys, 49% of respondents believe that current aid to Ukraine is too large. This prompts discussions about supporting defense cooperation between Ukraine and other countries, including Germany.
