The Italian startup Gevi Wind will produce vertical wind mini-turbines that will use artificial intelligence to optimize their operation. Thanks to the AI system, the turbines will be able to 'learn from the wind' and automatically adapt to its changes in real-time. This will allow for maximum energy production. This is reported by the portal Interesting Engineering.

Developers claim that the built-in AI system will analyze various parameters of the airflow such as direction, speed, turbulence, and the interaction of the turbine blades. As a result, the system will automatically adjust the blade pitch every few milliseconds, improving performance.

Diverse Advantages of Gevi Wind Turbines

The new technology will increase the energy production of these turbines by 60% compared to traditional vertical-axis wind turbines. Also, the AI mechanism will reduce mechanical stress on the turbines during strong winds by 80%. The height of the turbine is about 3 meters, and the rotor diameter is 5.4 meters. This compactness will allow for installations on the roofs of buildings and in other locations.

Starting the production of vertical wind mini-turbines, the Italian startup Gevi Wind hopes for a significant breakthrough in the field of renewable energy sources. The use of artificial intelligence will increase the turbines' productivity and make them more efficient in generating electricity. The compactness of the turbines will also allow them to be installed in a wider range of locations, promoting the use of wind energy.
