Conditions of insufficient street lighting can pose an additional threat to drivers and pedestrians due to the use of tinting film on car windows, especially on the windshield.
Automotive expert Oleksandr Fedchenko urged drivers to remove the tinting film to ensure the safety of themselves and other road users.
According to the expert, the full tinting of cars, including the windshield, is unacceptable in our country compared to most European countries due to reduced visibility, especially at night.
Risks and Recommendations
The expert explained that tinted glass can reduce the penetration of light from car headlights by 35-55%, complicating timely detection of pedestrians on the road, especially at night. This can lead to danger even in well-lit streets, and the risks increase significantly during blackout.
Fedchenko advises drivers to consciously approach the issue of road safety by removing the tinting film. He also reminded that modifying a car for travel abroad to EU countries will be problematic due to the ban on such changes in the vehicle.
Ukrainian drivers are advised to pay close attention to this issue as it concerns not only their own safety on the road but also the safety of other road users.
