Court Issues Verdict in Child Pornography Case
A Kyiv court has sentenced a mother to 11 years in prison for producing child pornography featuring her own two daughters. The children, who were 8 and 10 years old at the time of the crimes, have been removed from her custody and are now in the care of their fathers. This case highlights the persistent global threat of online child exploitation and the severe legal consequences for perpetrators. A female accomplice, who was a minor at the time of the offenses, received a 5-year suspended sentence with a 2-year probationary period.
According to the court's ruling, the mother was convicted under Part 4 of Article 301-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. This statute covers the production and distribution of child pornography, as well as coercing minors into participating in the creation of illegal content. The perpetrator used the internet to distribute this material for financial gain.
The prosecution was led by juvenile prosecutors from the Solomianska District Prosecutor's Office in Kyiv. The pre-trial investigation was conducted by detectives from the Solomianske Police Department, with operational support from the cyber police. Information on the case was provided by the press service of the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office.
