Odrex Clinic's License Revoked
The Ukrainian Ministry of Health has revoked the medical license of the Odrex Clinic. The action was formalized in a December 2, 2025, order concerning the clinic's associated legal entity, 'Dim Medytsyny' LLC. The license was canceled after the licensee refused to provide documents during an unscheduled inspection. However, the clinic's lawyer, Masi Nayem, has stated that these inspections did not uncover any violations. This case highlights ongoing tensions between healthcare providers and regulatory authorities in Ukraine.
Public Outcry and a New Corporate Structure
Public attention on the clinic intensified following the death of patient Adnan Kivan. A criminal investigation was launched, resulting in two doctors being formally notified of suspicion. According to the Prosecutor General's Office, a total of 10 criminal proceedings have been initiated in relation to the Odrex Clinic.
In the summer of 2025, the owners and managers of 'Dim Medytsyny' LLC left the company and established a new legal entity—'Medychnyi Dim Odrex' LLC. This new entity obtained a medical license within just a few weeks. Consequently, despite the difficulties stemming from the license revocation, the clinic's owners have continued their operations through this restructured corporate vehicle.
The Odrex Clinic situation underscores significant challenges within Ukraine's healthcare system, where medical licensing and institutional oversight are critical issues. The license revocation and multiple criminal cases point to a need for stronger regulatory control and patient safety measures. Simultaneously, the rapid creation of a new licensed entity demonstrates how businesses can navigate around regulatory barriers, raising questions about the effectiveness of current oversight mechanisms in the medical sector.
