London's Napoli on the Road Tops Europe’s Pizza Rankings Once Again
A pizzeria in London has secured the top spot in the 50 Top Pizza Europa guide for an unprecedented third consecutive year. Napoli on the Road marks the first time any establishment has held the number one position for three straight years. The latest edition of the guide features 200 pizzerias across 35 European countries, recognized for their exceptional quality and unique offerings.
Operated by Michele Pascarella, Napoli on the Road recently opened its third location in London’s Soho district. Pascarella’s approach centers on seasonal ingredients, as he explains:
“Our philosophy revolves around the seasons: spring, summer, autumn, and winter. We use the freshest seasonal ingredients sourced from Italy and trusted British farmers.” - Michele Pascarella
Other Notable Pizzerias in the Rankings
The 50 Top Pizza Europa list also highlights other standout pizzerias:
- Madrid’s Baldoria, run by Ciro Cristiano, took second place.
- France’s IMperfetto in Puteau came in third.
- London’s 50 Kalò by Ciro Salvo secured fourth place.
This year, the compilers expanded the final ranking to 60 establishments, reflecting Europe’s growing passion for pizza.
Spain leads the guide with 29 featured pizzerias, followed by France with 24. Notably, Italy is excluded from this list due to its own separate ranking of top pizzerias.
The success of Napoli on the Road underscores the rising popularity of pizza across Europe, with an emphasis on high-quality ingredients and seasonal production. The opening of a new London location signals business growth and a drive to meet demand for premium pizza. Meanwhile, the expansion of the ranking to 60 spots highlights an increasing appetite for gourmet pizza experiences in the region, potentially encouraging new venues to elevate their quality standards and innovate in pizza-making.
As the culinary scene in Europe continues to evolve, establishments like Athens' Bar Line are also making headlines by being named the best bar in Europe for 2026. This recognition highlights a broader trend of exceptional dining experiences across the continent, where quality and innovation are at the forefront.
