Voice-Powered AI Assistant Goes Live in Ukraine
The Ministry of Economy of Ukraine has introduced the country's first voice-based AI assistant at the State Employment Service's contact center. Operating as a pilot project in test mode, it is designed to efficiently manage calls during air raid alerts and outside regular business hours. The AI assistant has already handled 2,700 calls, demonstrating its integration into service delivery.
Performance Gains and Future Expansion
Thanks to cutting-edge technology, the average response time for inquiries has been reduced to 18 seconds. The project ensures 100% call handling during non-working hours and air raid alerts, as well as 20% of routine requests during work hours. This marks the first time in Ukraine that generative artificial intelligence has been deployed to receive incoming calls on an official government hotline.
The Ministry of Economy plans to scale the initiative from 4,000 to 80,000 phone calls per month. The AI assistant is being developed as part of the digital transformation of the labor market, under the 'Obriy' initiative, which aims to build a digital ecosystem for Ukraine's labor market.
The launch of a voice AI assistant in Ukraine highlights the ongoing digitization of public services, which could significantly enhance their accessibility and efficiency.
As the project remains in the testing phase, its successful implementation could serve as a model for other government agencies and encourage broader adoption of artificial intelligence technologies across Ukraine.
