A month has passed since the appointment of the new head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, and the work of this institution has become more organized and predictable. This was stated by MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak, summarizing the first 30 days of changes in the OP.

According to him, after the personnel decisions of President Volodymyr Zelensky, the internal communication in the Office of the President has become calmer. Meetings are held regularly, officials understand their tasks, and access to the president for reports and decision approvals has become more systematic. Also, according to the deputy, the amount of informal pressure on the parliament has decreased.

The Office of the President After the Change of Leadership: What Is Noted in the Rada

Zheleznyak emphasized that the Office of the President has ceased the practice of direct interference in the work of the Verkhovna Rada. According to him, there are no complaints from the leadership of the parliament, heads of factions or committees regarding the imposition of the agenda or behind-the-scenes instructions that were characteristic earlier.

Also, according to the deputy's observations, the negotiation process with international partners continues without complications. Moreover, none of the Western allies, according to him, has publicly expressed regret over the change in the leadership of the Office of the President.

The New Head of the Office of the President: Strengths and Weaknesses

At the same time, Zheleznyak noted that there is still no separate person in the Office of the President responsible for the economic block. This creates gaps in coordination with the government and subordinate institutions. Among other problems, he mentioned the inertia of some officials who are waiting for instructions, which is no longer the working style of the new OP leadership.

Among the key changes over the month:

  • improvement of internal organization
  • decrease of pressure on the parliament
  • calmer public and media communication
  • focus on military and international directions.

Zheleznyak concluded that during this period the Office of the President has become more institutionally capable, and the new leader does not replicate the style of his predecessor Andriy Ermak.

Earlier, Yaroslav Zheleznyak commented on a new high-profile investigation by journalist Mykhailo Tkach, which concerns the stay abroad of key figures in the NABU case: Mindich and Tsukerman.
