Accident at the Eastern Mining and Processing Plant: two miners missing

Трагедія на Східному гірничо-збагачувальному комбінаті: двоє шахтарів зникли безвісти.

On Tuesday, November 11, an accident occurred at the Ingульска state enterprise 'Eastern Mining and Processing Plant'. The hydro-filling mixture broke through in the underground operations of the processed block, leading to flooding at the level. This was reported by 'Glavkom' referring to the Ministry of Energy.

Four employees of the private enterprise 'Sviteks' were at the accident site. Two people have already been rescued, but the fate of the others is still unknown. Currently, rescue operations are being conducted by the forces and means of the State Emergency Service and the Ingульska 'Eastern Mining and Processing Plant'. A commission will also be established to investigate the accident in accordance with labor legislation.

Reminder of attacks on coal enterprises

Previously, eight DTEK mines were cut off from electricity due to shelling. During the attacks, more than 2,500 workers were underground. Recently, coal enterprises in Donetsk region have become targets of attacks by the Russian terrorist army, resulting in damage to the boiler house, administrative and warehouse premises.

As a result of the accident at the Ingульска state enterprise, the level was flooded due to the breach of the hydro-filling mixture. Rescue operations are ongoing, and a commission will be formed for further investigation. The reminder of past attacks on coal enterprises implies that this is not the first case of threats to miners in Ukraine.
