Massive Combined Russian Assault on Ukraine
On the night of June 2, Russia launched a large-scale, multi-wave attack on Ukraine, killing 13 people and wounding more than 100. The hardest-hit cities were the capital Kyiv, Dnipro, and Kharkiv, according to Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko. This assault marks one of the deadliest recent bombardments, highlighting the ongoing threat to civilian areas.
Aftermath of the Strike
In Kyiv, four people died and over 60 residents sought medical help, including a three-year-old child with shrapnel wounds. Emergency crews responded to 29 locations across the capital, with work still ongoing at six sites in five districts.
In Dnipro, nine people lost their lives, including a child, and 35 others were injured. Additionally, six individuals remain missing. Among the dead was Major Anton Yarmolenko, deputy head of a fire and rescue unit from the State Emergency Service.
In Kharkiv, more than ten people were wounded. Damage was also reported in the Mykolaiv, Poltava, Sumy, Chernihiv, Zaporizhzhia, and Kharkiv regions. The attack involved strike drones and air-, sea-, and ground-launched missiles, with the primary target being Kyiv. Dnipro, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, and Poltava were also hit.
This event underscores the severe threat Ukraine faces and the urgent need to strengthen security measures in affected regions. Amid the ongoing conflict, such massive strikes endanger civilian lives and demand decisive action from both the state and the international community to protect people and infrastructure.
