Russian occupants are pressuring workers of the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant.

They are being forced to sign contracts with the fake JSC 'Exploiting Organization of Zaporizhzhia NPP' or another enterprise of Rosatom. This was reported by Energoatom.

'The occupiers have invented a new 'tale', claiming that starting from January 1, 2023, Energoatom will stop paying salaries to ZNPP workers, including those who cannot access their workplaces because the occupants are preventing them,' the message states.

In reality, Energoatom continues to guarantee salary payments and all compensations provided for by the collective agreement to ZNPP workers. From January 1, Energoatom is increasing the additional payments for ZNPP staff who remain loyal to Ukraine from 20% to 50%.

Zaporizhzhia NPP has been under the control of Russian occupiers since March 4, 2022. Since the beginning of the war, the station has been continuously shelled, resulting in regular power outages.

On November 20, Russian military forces shelled the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant all morning. There were more than 12 hits on the station's infrastructure facilities.

On October 5, Russian President Vladimir Putin issued a decree to transfer the ZNPP into 'the management of Russia.' The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine noted that such a decree from the Russian dictator is null and void.

On October 17, occupants kidnapped several employees of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant. Terrorists also abducted the deputy general director of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, Valerii Martyniuk. The occupiers may torture the official.

The day before, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal reported that Ukraine’s international partners currently do not have specific information about Russia's intentions to withdraw troops from the territory of the ZNPP, and negotiations are ongoing.
