As of October 28, 2025, the heating season has partially started in 13 regions of Ukraine. This was stated by the Deputy Minister for Community and Territorial Development, Kostyantyn Kovalchuk. The information was disseminated by the publication 'Glavkom', referring to the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development.
According to him, this year the heating season started under difficult conditions due to attacks on energy and thermal generation from an external enemy.
Currently, more than half of social infrastructure facilities already receive heat, among which are kindergartens, educational institutions, and healthcare facilities. The supply of heat to residential buildings has also begun in 13 regions, while other regions are gradually also connecting users.
Preparation for winter
To start the heating season, more than 17,500 boiler houses and 17,000 kilometers of heating networks were prepared. During the preparation process, 340 kilometers of networks were replaced and major repairs were carried out. Kovalchuk emphasized the importance of rational use of resources and noted that Ukraine is ready for this season thanks to the joint efforts of energy workers, utility workers, local authorities, and support from international partners.
