Drunk Soldiers on Combat Duty Paralyze Unit Effectiveness in Khmelnytskyi Region

Військовослужбовці в нетверезому стані вплинули на боєздатність підрозділу в Хмельницькому.

Military Personnel Violations

In the Khmelnytskyi region, two service members—a private and a junior sergeant—were each fined 17,000 hryvnias for breaching combat duty regulations. The incident occurred on May 20, when both soldiers were found to be intoxicated. The private had a blood alcohol level of 1.55‰, while the junior sergeant registered 1.67‰. This misconduct rendered the crew combat-incapable and caused the failure of a mission to protect key facilities.

Additionally, a court in Khmelnytskyi imposed a 17,000 hryvnia fine on a senior soldier from an alert group for exceeding his official authority. The fined personnel have fully admitted their guilt, expressed sincere remorse, and pledged to adhere to the Ukrainian Armed Forces regulations moving forward.

Enforcement of Military Standards

In Kyiv, a ruling was also made to fine the director of 'OK Sky Service Plus' LLC 799,000 hryvnias for evading mobilization. These cases highlight a heightened enforcement of military norms and legal requirements across Ukraine.

The prevalence of violations among both military personnel and civilians underscores the critical need to uphold military discipline and the law amid current challenges. The fines levied on soldiers reflect the severity of offenses that can jeopardize security and mission success. Meanwhile, the court’s decision regarding the company director demonstrates that oversight of mobilization processes remains stringent, potentially encouraging other businesses to comply with legal obligations.

The recent incidents in the Khmelnytskyi region underscore the increasing scrutiny of military conduct. Similar to the fines imposed on soldiers for intoxication, a recent case involving an employee of the military enlistment office also highlights the serious consequences of misconduct. This situation reflects a broader trend of enforcing discipline within the armed forces and related institutions. For more details on this case, see how it unfolded involving an assault on a civilian.
