The Russian Federation has once again devised tricks! Instead of simply releasing prisoners after serving their sentence, they include them in lists for prisoner exchanges. Thus, they are essentially trading people who should have already been freed. One vivid example of this is the case of Konstantin Davidenko from Crimea, who had to wait for an exchange on Independence Day to return home to Ukraine.

'Russia is manipulating again. The Russian Federation includes in the exchange lists people who they were supposed to release anyway. Among them, by the way, are those convicted of criminal offenses. And this is one of the key issues, because even when a person has served their sentence, there is no guarantee that they will return,' explained the head of the Crimean Human Rights Group Olga Skrypnyk.

'The most common reason why this is possible is an expired Ukrainian passport. While in the colony, it is impossible to arrange documents, and Russia uses this as a violation of migration legislation,' the head of the group added.

Russia is confirmed in using manipulative and deceitful methods in relations with prisoners, including criminal convictions in exchange lists. This confirms the necessity for attention to this issue and the protection of prisoners' rights at the international level.
