Every day at 9 a.m., Ukrainians honor the memory of all those whose lives were taken by the Russian-Ukrainian war. Today, we remember Andriy Mesiuk.
After the full-scale invasion, Andriy Mesiuk voluntarily went to defend the country, even though he had never served in the army and had never been interested in military affairs. But he believed that protecting his homeland was a matter of honor and a duty of every man. Unfortunately, the warrior's life was cut short at the age of 35.
Andriy Petrovich Mesiuk was born on December 12, 1987, in Chernivtsi. He studied at gymnasium No. 1 (now lyceum No. 8). From childhood, he knew how to stand up for his opinion. Even when his position differed from the beliefs of his friends, he did not back down. He was restless and wanted to learn everything.
Like most boys his age, Andriy loved football during his school years, and he was also interested in music, playing the piano and guitar.
“He grew up as a cheerful, healthy, handsome boy, bright like that. He had many friends and always defended the offended. He had a heightened sense of justice. I remember a case when we bought Andriy an expensive sweater. A few days later, he came home from school without it. I asked him where the new item had gone. He replied: 'There was a boy at school who looked at me that way… His parents cannot buy him a sweater. So I gave him mine,'” shares memories of her younger son Hanna Mesiuk.
Professional path and military service
After school, Andriy Mesiuk trained as a lawyer and later obtained a degree in Public Administration. He worked in both government organizations and private enterprises, and for some time he was an assistant to a member of parliament.
Andriy Mesiuk got married, and he had two sons - Andriy and Maksym. However, the family fell apart.
In his second marriage, a daughter was born. This happened shortly before the full-scale invasion. The father managed to baptize the child, and on February 28, 2022, he went to the military recruiting office. Little Viktoria was three weeks old at that time.
This news tells about Andriy Mesiuk, who voluntarily participated in the defense of Ukraine during the Russian-Ukrainian war. He was known as a patriot, a good friend, and a compassionate person who was always ready to help others. His life journey deserves admiration and respect, and his dedication to his homeland inspires heroism.
