Drone Attack Situation in Ukraine
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has reported that more than 100 Russian drones are currently flying over Ukraine, cautioning that additional waves of assaults may follow. The previous day saw strikes across 14 regions, with significant damage to residential areas, railway networks, port facilities, and energy infrastructure. Overnight, Russian assaults hit residential and railway infrastructure in the Dnipropetrovsk and Kharkiv regions, as well as port facilities in the Odesa region and energy systems in the Poltava region. 'Our soldiers are countering at every level, and just during this night alone, 111 drones have been shot down or suppressed,' Zelensky reported.
Attacks on Civilian Infrastructure
On May 12, the Russian military struck Kryvyi Rih, hitting a residential building. The following day, May 13, the Poltava community came under attack, with a drone striking an electrical substation.
Ukrainian Air Force spokesperson Yurii Ihnat also expressed concern about the potential for new large-scale Russian assaults. He noted that 'there have been many warnings, and they are not without reason—we have intelligence, data from partners, and our own reconnaissance capabilities.'
Ihnat reported the detection of tactical aviation redeployments and increased activity at Russian airbases, pointing to a serious threat from the adversary.
