Professions of the Future
In Ukraine, there exists a 'golden list' of professions that will remain irreplaceable for at least the next two decades, despite the advances in automation. HR expert Tetiana Pashkina has identified doctors, educators, and engineers as the most resilient to technological changes.
Automation and Its Impact on Professions
Automation will change the format of work for various professions, but it will not eliminate the need for humans. Tetiana Pashkina noted that doctors, teachers, and engineers are difficult to replace with technology. She predicts that teachers may shift to individualized and remote learning, indicating an evolution of the educational process under the influence of new technologies.
At the same time, the pharmaceutical sector may see the emergence of sales robots driven by artificial intelligence, but this does not imply the disappearance of traditional specialists.
According to experts, the manufacturing sector will not be completely automated for some time, and the demand for specialists who create and manage physical processes will remain high. Among the 'long-lasting' professions, the following stand out:
- architects
- technologists
- designers
- pharmacists
- chemists
These professions require human participation and a creative approach, making them less vulnerable to automation.
“Doctors, teachers, and perhaps engineers are unlikely to be replaced by anyone or anything.”
Tetiana Pashkina
In light of these predictions, it is important to consider that the adaptation of professions to new technologies will require professionals to possess not only technical knowledge but also the development of soft skills such as communication and creativity. This indicates that education and professional training must evolve alongside changes in the labor market to meet the future's demands. While keeping the importance of traditional professions, society must also actively support their development under new conditions.
