Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov reported that Vladimir Putin is considering the possibility of a peaceful resolution to the conflict in Ukraine, but the main priority for Russia is to achieve its goals. This information was disseminated by the media citing a source at Glavkom.

Peskov also emphasized that the world has become accustomed to the statements of U.S. President Donald Trump, but noted that their common goal is to resolve the conflict peacefully. The Kremlin representative stressed that the process of peaceful resolution is difficult and requires a lot of effort.

«Our goals are clear, obvious and they do not change», – said Peskov.

For her part, White House spokesperson Caroline Levitt announced possible new sanctions and tariffs against Russia in the event of escalation of the situation in Ukraine. If Russia does not agree to a peace deal within 50 days, the Trump administration will impose restrictions related to countries importing Russian oil.

«If there is no ceasefire or peace agreement in Ukraine within 50 days, Russia will face very high tariffs and secondary sanctions», – Levitt emphasized.

Levitt noted that such measures could negatively impact the Russian economy. Earlier, President Trump himself expressed willingness to impose new tariffs if necessary to resolve the situation in Ukraine.

The Kremlin expressed readiness for a peaceful resolution of the conflict in Ukraine, but stressed that its own goals remain a priority for Russia. At the same time, the U.S. is ready to impose new sanctions and tariffs against the Russian Federation if the situation in eastern Ukraine does not improve.
