Aftermath of the Massive Strike on Kyiv and Its Surroundings
Ukrainian Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko has detailed the consequences of a large-scale assault on Kyiv and the surrounding region, reporting that 64 people were rescued. Nearly 30 residential buildings sustained damage, and the total number of fatalities stands at 14, including 5 in the Podilskyi district and 6 in the Darnytskyi district. In the Kyiv region, 3 people lost their lives. Over 60 residents were wounded, among them 5 children.

The Podilskyi district was hit by a missile strike that partially destroyed a building entrance and left more than 30 people injured. In the Darnytskyi district, a rocket landed in a courtyard between buildings, killing 6 residents and prompting the rescue of two 4-year-old children. The situation in the Kyiv region remains tense due to the shelling.
A precautionary evacuation began in Vyshneve due to the risk of secondary detonations, temporarily relocating over 500 people. Robotic equipment and aviation assets have been deployed to ensure the safety of rescue workers. Canine teams and pyrotechnic experts are operating at the sites, while police and State Emergency Service psychologists have provided assistance to more than 100 citizens.
Ihor Klymenko expressed gratitude to Ministry of Internal Affairs personnel: 'I thank every employee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs who is now standing with the people—those who have been injured, lost loved ones, or been left homeless due to the Russian strike. Despite the risks to yourselves, in these moments you are a crucial pillar of support for thousands of others.'
Mobile service centers from the Ministry of Internal Affairs have been set up in the Darnytskyi and Podilskyi districts of the capital, where victims can free of charge replace lost documents or have vehicles destroyed by the shelling officially written off.
