Workshop with Young Naturalists
Emergency responders, accompanied by a therapy dog named Toto, recently visited a youth nature group called 'Nature Around Us'. During the event, children took part in the 'Adventure Patrol' game organized by UNICEF, where they learned to identify dangers from explosive devices and practiced landmine safety rules. Toto, an emotional support dog, helped foster a friendly and relaxed learning atmosphere.
Eco-Project 'Flower Melody'
After the safety portion of the program, participants joined the eco-themed STEAM project 'Flower Melody'. As part of this initiative, the children planted nectar-rich flowers, which supports environmental improvement and nurtures a love for nature.
This event is a vital step in building children's awareness of safety in environments where hazards may be hidden in everyday life. Teaching them to recognize explosive threats not only boosts their knowledge but also helps develop self-protection skills. Additionally, the eco-project highlights the importance of environmental stewardship, a pressing concern in the face of today's ecological challenges.
In addition to promoting safety awareness, emotional support animals like Toto play a crucial role in helping children manage their emotions during stressful situations. Recently, another initiative featured Toto collaborating with Ukraine's emergency psychologists to teach kids effective stress management techniques. This dual approach not only addresses immediate safety concerns but also equips young individuals with essential coping skills for the future.
