Russian troops attacked Ukraine with drones and missiles
Russian occupation forces conducted a mass nighttime shelling of Ukraine on April 29, launching over 450 drones and 40 missiles of various types at critical infrastructure and civilian facilities in several regions of the country.
According to regional military administrations, the heaviest strikes hit the Lviv, Cherkasy, Poltava, Zaporozhye, Kharkiv, and Mykolaiv regions. The occupiers used a variety of weapons, including cruise missiles, aerobalistic missiles, and ballistic missiles. Fortunately, there were no casualties or injuries.
The head of the Lviv OVA, Maksym Kozytskyi, reported that the region was attacked by Russian drones and cruise missiles, targeting the critical infrastructure of the region. Preliminary reports indicate no casualties or injuries.
Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovyi noted that no civilian buildings were damaged in the regional center. Due to its proximity to the Polish border, the Polish Operational Command scrambled fighters and deployed ground-based air defense systems.
Damage from the attacks
In the Cherkasy and Zaporozhye regions, damage to civilian infrastructure, including houses and businesses, has been recorded. In Smila, three nine-story buildings and a college were affected, and the number of injured reached six people, including one child. In the Poltava region, a fire occurred at an enterprise, injuring one young woman.
Volodymyr Kohut, head of the Poltava OVA, reported an attack on one of the enterprises in the Kremenchuk district of the region, where a fire broke out. Rescuers pulled out two dogs they found under the rubble, frightened and exhausted, despite the risk of a wall collapse.
