Three UPL Clubs May Share Rivene's Avanhard Stadium as Home Ground

Три клуби Вищої ліги можуть використовувати стадіон Авангард в якості своєї домашньої арени.

Avanhard Stadium to Host Three Premier League Clubs

The Avanhard Stadium in Rivne could serve as the home ground for three Ukrainian Premier League clubs during the second half of the season. Rivne-based Veres, which was the stadium's sole tenant last autumn, will continue playing there. Kudrivka has reached a preliminary agreement to host its matches in Rivne, while Kamianets-Podilskyi's Epitsentr may also play several of its opening fixtures at Avanhard.

This development highlights the logistical challenges Ukrainian football faces during wartime, as clubs seek safe and viable venues. Last autumn, Kudrivka hosted opponents at the Obolon Arena in Kyiv, while Epitsentr played at the Ternopil City Stadium. Consequently, Avanhard Stadium is poised to become a crucial hub for three UPL teams.

Ukrainian Footballers Making Their Mark

In other football news, Kolos Kovalivka's goalkeeper, Ivan Pakholyuk, has been ranked among the world's top five young goalkeepers. In the under-23 age category, his clean sheet record is one of the planet's best, surpassed only by Uruguayan goalkeeper Bruno Antunes.

Additionally, Ukrainian footballers will no longer be classified as foreign players in ten European leagues. The list of friendly countries adopting this rule has been expanded to include:

  • Spain
  • Germany
  • Netherlands
  • France

The Ukrainian Association of Football (UAF) insists on equal rights for Ukrainian players alongside local athletes in EU member states. These measures are part of broader support for Ukraine's sporting community amidst the ongoing conflict.

The shared use of Avanhard Stadium could be a significant factor in Ukrainian football's development, providing three clubs with a proper venue for their matches. This may increase league competitiveness and attract more spectators. Furthermore, the new status for Ukrainian players in European leagues could foster their professional growth and integration into international football, positively impacting the image of Ukrainian sports overall.
