For Three Straight Days, Russian Forces Strike Gas Stations in Sumy

Протягом трьох днів російські війська атакують автозаправки в Сумах.

Attacks on Fuel Stations Across Ukraine

On June 26, Russian troops hit a gas station in Sumy, injuring three people. The strike also damaged two civilian vehicles. That same day, a Russian drone attacked a parking lot in Sumy, setting a car on fire and damaging around ten other vehicles.

The previous day, June 25, the Russian army targeted another gas station in Sumy’s Zarichny district, wounding four civilians. On June 24, Naftogaz filling stations came under fire in three different regions, while a gas extraction site in Poltava Oblast was also struck, leaving one person with serious injuries. These incidents highlight an escalation in attacks on civilian infrastructure in Ukraine.

Growing Danger to Civilians

Strikes on civilian infrastructure, especially gas stations, are part of Russia’s ongoing tactics and reflect an increasing threat to ordinary people. Such actions jeopardize Ukraine’s energy security and the well-being of its population.

In wartime, protecting civilian sites and individuals is critical, as these attacks cause not only physical harm but also deep psychological distress among the public.

The recent strikes on gas stations in Sumy are not isolated incidents, as Russian forces continue to target critical infrastructure across Ukraine. This pattern of aggression is evident in the attack on an emergency service facility in the Dnipropetrovsk region, which further underscores the vulnerability of civilian sites.
