Today, an emergency situation occurred on the railway near Konotop, as reported by the city mayor Artem Semenikhin. He stated that a Russian drone posed a threat to the passenger train. However, Ukrzaliznytsia claimed that there were no hits on the train. Despite this, the mayor of Konotop decided to evacuate the passengers for their safety.
“Thank God people were able to take cover! Konotop, together with UZ and the police, is currently organizing the evacuation of train passengers using buses! I apologize to the citizens, as we are urgently removing a certain number of buses from the line to save people! We need to save lives!”
The chairman Oleksandr Pertzovsky personally monitors the situation from Ukrzaliznytsia. Strikes on railway infrastructure have led to changes in train movements. Passengers heading towards Sumy region were redirected to other routes to ensure their safety.
