Saudi Arabia Receives Grain from Occupied Crimea: Data on Two Voyages of the Krasnodar Vessel

Саудівська Аравія отримала зерно з окупованого Криму: інформація про два рейси судна Краснодар.

Grain Cargoes from Occupied Crimea to Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia has become a new destination for grain cargoes from occupied Crimea, confirmed by two voyages of the Krasnodar vessel in September and November 2025. The first voyage took place in September 2025 to King Abdullah Port, and the second in November 2025 to Jazan Port. The Krasnodar vessel is leased by the Russian company 'Petrokhleb-Kuban'.

It is worth noting that until 2022, relatively small batches of grain were sent through Crimean ports. During the vessel's movements in August and October 2025, Krasnodar turned off its Automatic Identification System (AIS) several times, which may indicate intentions to avoid monitoring. Representatives of the company 'Petrokhleb-Kuban' stated that 'loading was carried out only with Russian supplies.'

Recipient Countries and International Reaction

Among the recipient countries of grain from Crimea are:

  • Iran
  • Syria
  • Egypt
  • Turkey
  • Venezuela
  • Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen

This situation raises concerns among international experts who emphasize the importance of countering the operations of the shadow fleet and violations of international maritime law. Alyona Shkrum, an expert in this field, highlights the need to monitor such shipments, which could threaten regional stability.

Thus, new routes for grain cargoes from occupied Crimea to Saudi Arabia raise serious questions about the legitimacy of such supplies and their impact on international relations. Given the historical contexts and political situation in the region, such actions may have significant consequences for global food security and economic stability, as well as increase tensions between the countries involved in these supplies.
