Salaries in Ukraine: which sectors remain the highest paid

The leader in wage levels remains the information and telecommunications sector. On average, its employees earn 76,997 UAH per month.

Meanwhile, the lowest salaries were recorded in the healthcare and social assistance sector, where the average income is 21,554 UAH.

At the same time, the State Statistics Service reported that as of June 1, 2026, the total wage debt in Ukraine reached 3.8 billion UAH.

Experts also note that the official average salary does not reflect the real incomes of most Ukrainians. The figure is calculated as an arithmetic mean, therefore it is significantly influenced by the high salaries of certain categories of employees, particularly in IT, among top managers, and military personnel. According to specialists' estimates, the median salary today is about 22-23 thousand UAH.

It should be noted that in Ukraine the minimum wage is twice as low as in Moldova.
