Strikes on Russia's Shadow Fleet
Over a 72-hour period, the Unmanned Systems Forces of Ukraine's Armed Forces struck 21 vessels belonging to Russia's shadow fleet. Among the targeted ships, 19 were oil tankers, one was a dry cargo ship, and another was a ferry operating in Kerch. Commander Robert Brovdi of the Ukrainian Unmanned Systems Forces confirmed: “21 vessels were hit within 72 hours: 19 shadow fleet tankers, one dry cargo ship, and one ferry in Kerch.”

On the night of July 7, Ukrainian drones attacked eight shadow fleet tankers in the Sea of Azov. The following night, July 8, Ukraine's Defense Forces struck multiple targets inside Russian territory, including:
- two oil refineries
- a military airfield
- shadow fleet tankers
- road bridges in the Belgorod region
During this operation, 53 military targets were hit in Crimea and the southern part of the temporarily occupied territories. These actions highlight the intensification of Ukrainian forces in their ongoing fight against the aggressor.
This series of attacks on Russian ships and military assets underscores Ukraine's growing reliance on drone technology for combat operations. Targeting the shadow fleet could significantly disrupt Russia's logistics and supply chains in the region, while also demonstrating Ukraine's ability to strike critical infrastructure on enemy soil. These developments may mark a new phase in the conflict, reflecting the increasing effectiveness of Ukrainian military strategies.
The recent operations by Ukraine's Unmanned Systems Forces have further escalated the conflict, marking a significant shift in military tactics.
