Ukrainian drones target tankers in the Azov Sea
Внаслідок успішної операції українських дронів, в Чорному морі знищено вісім танкерів, що належать тіньовому флоту РФ.

Drone Strikes Achieve Major Success

According to ХВИЛЯ: Ukrainian drone operators from the 414th Separate Brigade "Ptakhy Madara" carried out a series of successful strikes overnight on July 7, according to Commander Robert Brovdi (also known as Madyar), head of the Unmanned Systems Forces. The operation targeted eight tankers of Russia's shadow fleet in the Sea of Azov, along with a dry cargo ship and a ferry that were transporting fuel supplies to Crimea. All of the struck tankers have been identified and are under international sanctions.

The vessels hit in the attack have a deadweight of approximately 7,000 tons and measure 140 meters in length. They were built between 2006 and 2012. The named tankers include:

  • Venera-3
  • Sanar-1
  • Sanar-17
  • Klymena
  • Teti
  • Aleksey Savrasov
  • Penelopa

One additional vessel that was struck has not yet been named. Robert Brovdi stated:

“The shadow fleet is coming off watch” - Robert Brovdi

and emphasized that “The battle for gasoline for Crimea in the Sea of Azov continues.”

Strikes Against Military Targets

In addition to the tankers, drones also attacked 58 military targets deep within enemy-held territory, including energy infrastructure in Crimea. The commander concluded:

“We will stand firm. Moscow will fall. Crimea will be fed and rebuilt” - Robert Brovdi

These actions highlight an intensified campaign to weaken the adversary's logistical capabilities in the region.

The strikes reflect Ukraine's strategic goal of reducing Crimea's fuel supply, which is a critical component for sustaining Russian military operations there. The successful attack on Russia's shadow fleet tankers could significantly disrupt its logistics, as fuel delivery is vital for supporting military forces. Such operations also serve as a signal to the international community about the seriousness of the conflict and the need for continued support in restoring Ukraine's territorial integrity.

In a related development, Ukrainian drone forces have recently achieved remarkable success by targeting Russian tankers and military systems in the Sea of Azov. This ongoing campaign not only emphasizes Ukraine's strategic efforts to undermine Russian logistics but also showcases the effectiveness of drone operations in the region.
