Free Preventive Health Screenings Launched for Ukrainians Over 40
Health Minister Viktor Liashko has visited the Bucha Primary Healthcare Center, which is now participating in the new 'Health Screening 40+' initiative. This nationwide program provides free basic health assessments for all citizens aged 40 and older. Starting January 31, invitations to participate will be sent electronically via the Diia app. The first to receive invitations will be those whose birthdays fall in the early days of the year.
This proactive screening program is a significant public health measure aimed at strengthening preventive care. Its primary goal is the early detection of cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, and mental health disorders. The screening package includes:
- A physical examination,
- Laboratory tests,
- A comprehensive assessment of the patient's health risks.
Over 800 medical facilities have already joined the program, with new participating institutions being added daily. To ensure convenience, these centers offer scheduled appointments in specific time slots, extended operating hours, coordinator support, and barrier-free access. Patient appointments at the medical facilities will begin in early February.
"The Health Screening 40+ program is a crucial step in improving Ukraine's healthcare system," said Viktor Liashko.
By providing these examinations free of charge, the program aims to give more Ukrainians access to essential medical services, which is expected to have a positive impact on the overall health of the population.
