Today in Ukraine, a meeting was held with Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko and First Lady Olena Zelenska. The main topic of discussion was the reform of school meals. The Ministry of Community and Territorial Development emphasized the importance of this reform for the revival of communities and the modernization of schools.
“When schools are being restored or modernized, the community must ensure the safety of children, stable operation of engineering systems, energy efficiency of the building, and organization of meals.”
One of the key elements of the reform has been kitchen factories that prepare food for several schools and then deliver it to the dining blocks for students. This simplifies the cooking process, reduces the load on school energy systems, and saves costs.
In Bucha, one such kitchen factory is already successfully operating, serving 15 schools and preparing about 7.5 thousand meals daily. A new kitchen factory has also just opened in Lozova, Kharkiv region, which will provide food for 14.5 thousand students in two communities of the region.
The reform of school meals in Ukraine is aimed at improving the learning conditions for children, ensuring safety and nutrition in educational institutions.
