The government announced winter assistance for Ukrainians: who will receive payments

Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko announced that the government is preparing a winter support package, which will include both existing programs and new support measures. This was reported by the online publication 'Glavcom'.


At a meeting with President Volodymyr Zelensky, priorities and components of the winter support package were identified, including existing programs such as fixed energy prices for the population and housing subsidies, as well as new support measures.



The government is preparing to launch the following programs:



  • One-time financial assistance for all citizens of Ukraine for the winter;

  • Additional financial support for those affected by the war and people in difficult life circumstances;

  • Free travel across Ukraine for all citizens up to 3000 km on Ukrainian Railways;

  • Medical examinations for people over 40 years old.



Detailed information on all aspects of the winter support package is promised to be made public soon. Additionally, the Minister of Social Policy, Family, and Unity noted that the funds received could be spent on the most necessary needs such as clothing, footwear, and medical supplies.



Who will receive assistance:



  • Children under guardianship or care, including children with disabilities;

  • First-group disabled veterans of the war;

  • Children from low-income families;

  • Single pensioners with a care supplement.



Other aspects of the broad support package will be presented later. Please note that a new winter support program will be launched in Ukraine starting December this year, which will provide additional assistance to socially vulnerable groups of the population.



A special program of free transport support will also be implemented, which will include free travel by all trains for a distance of 3000 km for all citizens of Ukraine.



Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko announced the government's preparation of a winter support package, which includes new and existing assistance programs for the population of Ukraine. Among the priorities are financial assistance and support for socially vulnerable groups, as well as free travel and medical examinations for certain categories of citizens.
