Electricity tariff from 2026
Starting from January 1, 2026, the electricity tariff will remain fixed at 4.32 UAH per 1 kWh, and the Regulations on special obligations in the electricity market will be extended until April 30, 2026. Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko noted that the extension of this regulation is part of the state program to support citizens during the winter. Consumers using dual-zone meters can save significant amounts on electricity.
Savings for dual-zone meter owners
For owners of dual-zone meters, there is a possibility of significant savings due to the reduced electricity tariff during nighttime hours. From 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM, the cost of electricity will be only 2.16 UAH per kWh, which is a 50% discount from the daytime tariff. At the same time, during the daytime from 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM, the tariff will be 4.32 UAH per kWh.
The average savings for users of dual-zone meters can be as follows:
- 130 UAH for consuming 200 kWh of electricity;
- 324 UAH for 500 kWh;
- 648 UAH for 1000 kWh.
It is important to note that the costs of purchasing and installing a dual-zone meter are usually recouped within 1-2 years. This makes such an investment profitable for many households.
Types of households that benefit from switching to dual-zone accounting include:
- households with boilers;
- families where 30-50% of energy consumption occurs at night;
- users of electric heating.
Given the current tariffs, switching to a dual-zone meter may be an effective solution for reducing electricity costs.
The continuation of the fixed electricity tariff and special obligations in the market is part of the government's efforts to support the population amidst rising energy resource prices.
The introduction of dual-zone meters may encourage consumers to use electricity more rationally, which, in turn, can positively affect the energy stability of the country. It is important for consumers to familiarize themselves with saving opportunities and switch to more favorable tariffs, which can reduce the financial burden on households during the winter period.
