Ukraine's Campaign to Counter Human Trafficking

An ongoing information campaign in Ukraine is focused on combating human trafficking and providing psychological support. This initiative is a serious crime against human dignity, and the risks of exploitation have escalated significantly during the war. The campaign is implemented by the International Organization for Migration's Mission in Ukraine, in partnership with the Ministry of Social Policy, the National Social Service, the National Police, and the All-Ukrainian Coalition of NGOs against Human Trafficking, with financial backing from the Government of Sweden.

Psychological Support and Hotline Services

Forced displacement, loss of income, and the search for work have left millions more vulnerable to various forms of exploitation. To support citizens, national toll-free hotlines are now operational. The human trafficking and migrant counseling hotline is available at 527 or 0-800-505-501, operating daily from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM. A separate free psychological support hotline can be reached at 0-800-211-444. These resources are vital for people facing difficult life circumstances, offering a critical first point of contact for help.

This campaign represents a crucial step in the fight against human trafficking, especially under wartime conditions that increase exploitation risks. The involvement of international organizations and foreign government funding underscores the global significance of this issue and the necessity for coordinated action to protect vulnerable populations.

The availability of these hotlines ensures access to support and information for those who may become victims of trafficking or require psychological assistance amid challenging life situations.
