Movement of portraits of former presidents in the White House

U.S. President Donald Trump decided to move the portraits of former American leaders Barack Obama, George H.W. Bush, and George W. Bush to a restricted area of the White House that is off-limits to visitors. CNN reports, citing sources, that the portrait of Obama, which previously hung at the entrance to the White House, has been relocated to a less prominent spot. This action underscores the tense relationship between Trump and Obama, the 44th and 47th presidents.

Other sources report that the portraits of the Bushes were also moved to the restricted part of the presidential residence, accessible only to certain individuals from the administration. This reflects the complicated relationship between Trump and the Bush family, among whom there are long-standing disagreements.

«This further confirms the difficult relationship between Trump and Obama,» notes CNN.

It is also important to note that Trump controls all changes to the interior of the White House, making his adjustments. Among other innovations, he added gold to his office decor in the White House and installed two new flagpoles on either side of the building. Construction of a new ballroom in the White House will also soon begin, costing $200 million and is planned to be completed by the end of Trump's term in early 2029.
