The Ukrainian labor market increasingly feels the shortage of people with technical and vocational skills. IT retains the highest average salary, but builders, drivers, and welders can earn more than many office workers. This is reported by TSN.ua with reference to the State Statistics Service and job portals.
What salaries are offered in Ukraine in July 2026
The average official salary in Ukraine in May was 30,961 UAH. At the same time, figures vary significantly: over 47 thousand UAH is paid in Kyiv, over 32 thousand UAH in Kyiv Oblast, and 22–23 thousand UAH in Chernivtsi, Kirovohrad, and Chernihiv Oblasts.
Statistics mainly take into account enterprises with ten or more employees. Small businesses, individual entrepreneurs, and about 3 million informally employed people are not included. Therefore, the median salary received by a typical worker in the regions remains at the level of 20–23 thousand UAH.
The highest average salaries are offered in the following sectors:

IT: about 77 thousand UAH;

construction: 35 thousand UAH, bricklayers and facade workers 55–65 thousand UAH;

transport and auto business: 34 thousand UAH, narrow specialists from 45 thousand UAH;

manufacturing: electricians, welders, and assemblers around 33 thousand UAH.
Which professions are most needed by employers in 2026
The demand has shifted from marketing, design, and PR to the real sector. Employers find it most difficult to find drivers, builders, electricians, welders, automotive technicians, special machinery operators, and production masters.
Almost 47% of vacancies on Work.ua are already available to candidates without experience. Companies are willing to train employees themselves, and women are increasingly being engaged in manufacturing, logistics, energy, and operating heavy machinery.
There is also rising demand for people aged 55–70. Retirees are being hired in manufacturing, schools, accounting, commerce, and the service sector. The number of vacancies for veterans and people with disabilities has increased by 64% over the year.
What will happen to salaries in Ukraine in the third quarter
The number of vacancies in July-September may stabilize at 110–115 thousand. As a result, the overall salary growth will slow down, and employers will more often offer official registration, reservations, and flexible bonuses.
A 10–12% increase will mainly be received by scarce technical specialists, workers, and managers on whom the company's income directly depends. No significant salary increases are expected in the office and administrative sectors.
It should be noted that in Ukraine the minimum wage is twice lower than in Moldova.
