Ukraine Launches New Online Service for Veterans and Their Families on Diia Portal

В Україні презентовано новий онлайн-сервіс для підтримки ветеранів та їхніх родин на порталі Дія.

Streamlined Veteran Services Now Available on Diia

The Ukrainian government has introduced a new service on the Diia portal designed for veterans, female veterans, and their family members. Instead of submitting separate applications for each benefit, users can now file a single request to access multiple state services at once. These include a one-time financial aid payment from the Ministry of Veterans Affairs, social services, and the status of a person with a disability due to war or the status of a family member of a fallen defender of Ukraine. Previously, each of these services required a separate application, making the process cumbersome for applicants.

Processing Times and Digital Convenience

According to Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko, processing times for applications range from five to 30 calendar days, depending on the specific services selected. Applicants can receive the results of their requests online through the Diia portal. Most data is automatically pulled from state registries, though in some cases, individuals may be asked to submit additional documents.

Prior to this launch, the Cabinet of Ministers had already introduced a new feature in the Diia app called Veteran Pro, which provides data from the veteran registry, and also updated the electronic veteran ID card. Additionally, the Ministry of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine has highlighted the capabilities of the Zakhyst+ mobile app, which allows veterans to access discounts, cashback, and loyalty programs from partner businesses. This new service on the Diia portal is designed to simplify veterans' access to government services and improve their overall experience.

The introduction of this service marks a significant step in supporting veterans and their families, especially as the need for social assistance and support continues to grow. Such initiatives reflect the government's efforts to improve access to public services and streamline bureaucratic processes, which can greatly ease the lives of those who have defended the country. It is expected that the new service will boost satisfaction levels among veterans and their loved ones when interacting with state institutions.

In addition to the new features on the Diia portal, veterans can also benefit from the recently launched Zakhyst+ app, which offers various discounts and services tailored specifically for them. This app complements the streamlined services now available online, providing veterans and their families with even more resources and support.
