Dozens of demonstrators gathered at the US embassy in Kuala Lumpur to protest the proposed appointment of Nick Adams as the US ambassador to Malaysia. Adams' posts criticizing Islam and supporting Israel's military campaign in Gaza outraged Muslims. On August 1, the country is set to conclude a trade agreement with Washington to avoid a steep 25% tariff on exports to the US.

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim told reporters that it is too early to discuss Adams’ appointment, but his government will consider the matter. Demonstrators, led by leaders of the ruling coalition, submitted a protest memorandum to the US embassy in Kuala Lumpur, asking Trump to reconsider Adams' appointment. The memorandum mentions the 'divisive rhetoric' used by Adams and describes his posts as insensitive to Malaysia's multicultural society.

Protests have emerged in Malaysia against the proposed appointment of Nick Adams as the US ambassador due to his outspoken criticism of Islam and support for Israeli military actions. Demonstrators believe that such a candidacy does not reflect the interests of the country's Muslim population.
