Disagreements have arisen in the German government over the allocation of funds for military support to Ukraine. Defense Minister Boris Pistorius demanded 10 billion euros for the next two years, but the Ministry of Finance and the government proposed significantly smaller amounts, which could threaten contracts with Ukrainian defense industry manufacturers.

Germany's military needs reached 15.8 billion euros by 2026 and 12.8 billion by 2027, yet only 9 billion per year was allocated, creating a significant deficit. Experts confirm that requests exceed the allocated budget funds.

'Chancellor Merz continues the policies of his predecessors, despite promises to change the approach,' noted Sebastian Schaefer, a member of the 'Green' party.

Representatives from the German Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Defense assured that the government continues to support Ukraine. It is also worth noting that Germany promised to respond severely to any potential aggression from Russia against Poland.

The conflict within the German government regarding the allocation of funds for military assistance to Ukraine could have negative consequences for both countries and threaten security in the region. The situation should be closely monitored at the international level.
