In the evening of September 13, air raid alerts sounded in Romania and Poland due to the threat of attack by Russian strike drones. As reported by Digi24, the drones violated the airspace of both NATO countries, prompting local security services to react immediately.

The Romanian Emergency Situations Inspection warned residents in the northern part of Tulcea County about the 'likelihood of falling objects from the airspace'. According to the agency, the alert lasted approximately one and a half hours.

Warnings in Poland

A similar situation arose in neighboring Poland around 19:15, when sirens sounded in the east of the country and a warning was issued for Lubusz Voivodeship.

Previous incidents

This is not the first instance of Russian drones entering the airspace of NATO member countries. Just a few days ago, on the night of September 10, during a massive attack on Ukraine, more than twenty drones entered Poland.

The Polish air defense forces managed to destroy only four of them. The incident raised serious concerns in Warsaw and became a topic of discussion at the NATO level.

Reports of alerts in Romania and Poland due to the threat of Russian drone attacks confirm the escalation of the situation in the region and the intensification of geopolitical tensions. This creates certain risks for the security of European countries and may have implications for international relations as a whole.
