Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov reported that the Russian authorities are carefully listening to the statements of retired Lieutenant General Keith Kellogg about possible strikes on Russian territory. Peskov emphasized that Moscow takes these statements seriously.
'We have indeed heard these statements, we are currently analyzing them carefully,' Peskov stressed.
He also added that military experts are involved in this analysis to assess the potential threats. Peskov posed rhetorical questions regarding the direct involvement of the United States in possible strikes.
'Who can launch these missiles, even if they end up on the territory of the Kyiv regime? Can they only be launched by Ukrainians, or should it be done by American military? Who is giving the command to these missiles? The American side or the Ukrainians themselves?' he asked.
Peskov emphasized the necessity of deep analysis for formulating an official position and potential reaction. Answering a question about Russia's possible reaction to the supply of American missiles to Ukraine, he evaded a direct answer.
'Well, let's first formulate a position, understand the potential threats... And then we can determine our response position, even if that happens,' he said.
He also attempted to downplay the significance of possible new weapons supplies, repeating the narrative of Russian propaganda about the absence of 'miracle weapons.'
'There is no panacea that can currently change the situation on the fronts for the Kyiv regime. There is no magic weapon. Whether it's 'Tomahawks' or other missiles, they will not change the dynamics,' he concluded.
In its official position, the Russian authorities are carefully analyzing potential threats that may arise from possible strikes on their territory by the United States. Furthermore, they are actively preparing for a potential reaction to the developments, making every effort to ensure their country's security.
