Sharp Rise in Long-Range Drone Operations by Ukraine's Armed Forces
In June 2023, Ukraine's Unmanned Systems Forces dramatically escalated their attacks on military and energy infrastructure deep within Russian territory. Compared to the start of the year, the number of successful strikes in both operational and strategic depth grew by an astonishing 1,150%. Out of the 172 confirmed strikes, Brovdi disclosed details on 30 key targets. These include the Astrakhan gas processing plant, multiple oil refineries, petroleum terminals in St. Petersburg and Novorossiysk, the Kronstadt naval base, and the corvette 'Boykiy.' Notably, the Moscow Oil Refinery was hit on June 16 and 18. Additional strikes targeted satellite communication centers in Dubna, Skolkovo, and Medvezhye Ozera, as well as oil terminals in Crimea and the Krasnodar region.
