Russian troops have already reached the outskirts of Myrnohrad in the Pokrovsk district of Donetsk region. Street battles are taking place there. This was reported by 'Glaсkom', citing the spokesman for the 'East' grouping of troops, Hryhoriy Shapoval, during a telethon.
'Currently, unfortunately, the enemy has entered the outskirts of Myrnohrad, and is using not only artillery and drone systems, but also infantry and equipment,' he reported.
Defense forces are now trying to hold their positions by building fortifications. 'The situation is quite difficult, and fierce street battles are ongoing,' Shapoval explained.
Plans and actions of Zelensky
President Volodymyr Zelensky, at a closed meeting attended by 'Glaskom', said that Russia planned to seize Pokrovsk a year ago, but their plans were not realized. Zelensky also noted that the Russians are trying to provide Americans with false information about complete control over eastern Ukraine.
'We are increasing our forces for defense near Pokrovsk. About 200 Russian troops are located in various places - we see this through drones. When Russians come out of their positions and open fire, they are found and destroyed,' he said.
Attempts by the enemy to shift the main direction of the offensive to Kup'yansk have not been successful, and battles in the Novopavlivsk direction remain under the control of Ukrainian troops.
Russian military forces continue to try to advance deeper into Ukrainian territory, having managed to approach the outskirts of Myrnohrad. Ukrainian troops are actively defending their positions and do not allow the enemy to easily continue their offensive. The plans and actions of President Zelensky aim to ensure the safety of the population and the territory of Ukraine, defending Ukrainian sovereignty in the face of military threats from Russia.
